Alodia William Ishengoma

Dr. Ishengoma is a retired ILO employee, an independent consultant and a member of (1) Agenda for Environment and Responsible Development (AGENDA) - Tanzania, and (2) Springloop Coöperatie U.A - the Netherlands. She is a global specialist in various components of waste management including – recycling (+composting and reuse), general material valorisation, Waste to Energy (WtE), hygiene, waste-sector-child-labour as well as enterprise development in low and middle income countries. She also has significant working experience in East and West Africa in leadership positions responsible for developing various interventions in the waste management sector including developing training materials and mostly working with Municipalities/Local authorities, government ministries and agencies, trade unions, NGOs, International Organizations, and SMMEs. She recently (2017) developed training guides and manuals for community based waste collection and sorting with prevention of child labour and carried out training and community mobilization programmes in 4 states in Nigeria. Furthermore, she (2015-2016) developed some operations manuals for part of the WtE operations as well as developed special packages and carried out the sanitation and hygiene promotion programs at both district and community levels in Ashaiman Municipality – Accra -Ghana.
