Companies and consumers are increasingly using digital tools to gather information and improve their circular economy impact. Examples:  

  • Digital tracking of a wide array of environmental and social impacts in the value chain allows scoring of products and business solutions with respect to sustainability criteria. Such scoring allows comparison over time and gives business managers the ability to determine strategic targets that can be cascaded across the organization.
  • Digital platforms allow controlled interaction with stakeholders. Both the focus of the stakeholder discussions and the format of input can be steered in a way that companies obtain insightful information in an efficient way. At the same time, these platforms allow companies to disseminate the information demanded by stakeholders easily.
  • Userfriendly apps allow consumers to measure their environmental footprint and enable new circular economy business applications.

This seminar showcases a range of innovative and well-designed digital tools that help companies and consumers to evolve towards more circular practices. The aim is to identify and investigate key criteria for successful circular economy tools.
